- Everyone at home is smiling and having a party without you. To help pay for those boarding fees, weeks are made for working. Early mornings, rushing and late nights. Fun is saved for the weekends when you are home. We also feel a bit low when the whole family is not together. #momslivesmattertoo. The house is a bit to quiet, a bit to clean and a bit to tidy.
- This could be a double edged sword, we may be out on “school nights” loving having our evenings to ourselves. A conundrum !
- Things at home will be different. From the position of the furniture to the sudden existence of a new swimming pool, when they get home the children always look for something new. Please refer to point 1.
- Food is always better at home. Again refer to point 1. We are so busy running around so that we can spend time with you on weekends and not work that food becomes a bit of a nuisance. Our fridge is close on empty during the week with meals being a luxury but come Friday it is stocked up with delicious fast and fresh ingredients. All your favorites.
- We spend all week glued to the phone waiting on your calls or SMS. No we can not drop all we are doing to rush you those socks you forgot. Again point 1. Make a plan please.
- Home is just for “chillin” and watching TV. We accept a bit of this behavior rather but would also like to interact with the person we know is hidden deep down there somewhere. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder – we want to interact with you.
- Finally – mom is not your junior. Do not tell her what to do or expect her to run after you. We love you but not that much!
Despite the truths – home is always open to you and continue to believe that it is the best place in the world… it will be a sad day when you finally move out and into a home of your own.
