Corona Chronicles ….

More up and downs …
1. Down ….
Getting used to the “new Normal”
The end of last week saw another big day out as the pinkfarmchick tackled the big city lights and did a supply run …
Shopping centres are like doing a gladiator run through an obstacle course:
Standing on the escalator without holding onto the rail and keeping composure. I am challenged when standing upright on a flat even surface, so imagine the horror of standing on moving stairs …. Going up … and not been able to stabilise yourself with your hand. As the HF calls me “top heavy” with “calves that are out to graze” …height and movement of the escalator .. makes me sweat and hyperventilate just thinking about it ….
Trying on sunglasses, masked up and trying not to touch anything. Impossible to do and impossible to get a good look ….
Opening the fruit and veggie packets to weigh your pick. Try doing this without licking your fingers. Impossible to do …. Also try to break the static when taking off a jersey in winter without licking your fingers …
Getting ready in the freezing cold Midlands and heading “down the hill”. Add longs, closed shoes, long sleeved shirt, scarf, mask, glasses on your head with a takeaway coffee and you have a recipe for a hot flush with anxiety thrown in for good measure ….
2. Down …
I miss giving my fingers a good lick after I have finished a packet of crisps. We all know that the tasty bit is all the MSG loaded spices at the bottom of the packet ….
3. Down ….
Turning down the radio while on the freeway because the song has a random beat in the riff and you want to check it is the music and not the car ….you just know that if you need a new car part now you would wait for weeks / months / ….
4. Up …
The free parking at most centres … and lots of it
5. Up …
Giving random smiles and greetings to people, and they greet you back before they realise, they don’t know who you are behind the mask …
6. Up …
You can smile with your eyes but say something completely different under your mask …..
7. Up…
Uncommon birds spotted at Whyteleaf Cottage this week … Redbilled Woodhoopoe … Malachite Kingfisher …. Black Sunbird
Found … the culprit who is stealing all my bird seed … sneaky ….

Bust....The culprit ... eating my bird seed
Bust … the culprit …. eating my bird seed

8. Up …
Wearing a mask highlights your eyes, which is one of my redeeming features… next time there is a pandemic, please may we wear coverings from our neck to our knees. Thank you
9. Down …
Home-schooling …I have to plan my toilet breaks because as soon as I am not paying attention, the YOS will make a gap for it … and only be seen at the next meal time.
