For several reasons this was a BIG DAY OUT for the family. Not counting the impact Aunty Rona has had on our weekend adventures, this was the first time we were venturing out as DOG PEOPLE. Yes, Gatting was going out on his first big adventure.
So Gatting was cleaned, wiped, and brushed ready for the day. But wait there was more – he had Grandpas Queen Scout bandana tied around his neck with his collar. His lead, his water, his water bowl and his bed were all packed – I needed a baby bag!
But he really looked good. A real chick magnet for the boys!
But it wasn’t only chicks that found him “so cute”. Old ladies, bossy men and people with REALLY BIG dogs all needed a scratch, look or a sniff. It got so hectic my youngest thought we had better sanitise Gatting before getting back into the car. It is amazing how going from not being a take-dog-out family (dogs were meant to stay at home and protect the perimeter), we all slipped into the roll of loving pet owner, so easily. But then what is not to love about Gatting.
Needless to say, he loved all the attention and socialising, and had a good snooze all the way home. A dog after my own heart – a bit of socialising, out and about in the morning and then heavy parking at home for the rest of the day.
Needless to say, I had a quick dash into the Vet shop today to get a pack of bio-degradable multi-purpose disposable bags for you know what ….
