FFF and a crisp clear Kamberg morning …

In the crisp clear country air, under the blue African sky, surrounded by green rye grass and contented grazing dairy cows, over crackling brown veld and amongst free-spirited cattle five fabulous friends enjoyed a ramble adventure peppered with facts, fiction and family updates. There is nothing to compete with the outdoors, adventures, good company and clean air.

We started off our adventure walking up “flying saucer hill” and shared facts and fables related to the gifted and intelligent Elizabeth Klarer and her encounter with her man from space, Akon, her time on Meton and her son Aryling.

“The most beautiful and most profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical”. Albert Einstein uttered these words and to share this mystery in this setting with these friends was, for the writer. a special special day.

Even the male reedbuck, with his magnificent pair of horns, we startled with our constant chatter and laughter, did not look to harassed. And we dealt with the souring vultures above, who started started circling our beef mince sandwiches, by asking (very loudly) “please pass the dry, unsalted, vegetarian soya mince sarmies”.

One of the party had to get picked up by our “knight in a dirty white farm bakkie”, we saw the dust cloud “coming round the mountain” before we heard the car. Thanks to the HF for helping out. Any moment she was going to hit a stockman over the head and steal his mount !

On our way home we passed the stock men moving a herd “free-spirited” beef animals complete with one very huge handsome bull. Complete our walk with a “pragtige voorbeldt” (english afrikaans for a beautiful example) of an Orange breasted Longclaw, several African Stone Chats and various unidentified (by the writer) bird species, and I give our outing a 10/10.
